This is the first time for me to say hello to all the wonderful friends. In all the later thirty years, never have I found such a nice group of Clarke students. This world in all of the trouble and problems will wipe one out, if you keep your mind on it. Now it is nice to know wonderful Christian that will still hold up the banner for Christ. We all thank you Clarke for all the love and strength that you placed within us. Love in Christ, David Holt

It's great to see this site! I loved reading the messages from all you guys who went to Clarke in 70-73. What memories it brought back. Clarke College was where I really started growing as a Christian. I thank God all the time for the privilege of going there. He blessed me with so many wonderful friends at Clarke. You know - forever friends.
Even if I never see any of you again on earth I know we'll meet again in Heaven. God has blessed me with a wonderful (and crazy) Christian husband, Kenny, and a beautiful daughter, Regina. She will be 18 in August and will be attending Judson College in Marion, AL in September.
In fact I have told her so many things thru the years about Clarke that when it closed she was upset too. She wanted to go there some day! She is our only child but we are so blessed to have her. She and her daddy keep me laughing a lot. I am the secretary, church clerk, and financial secretary at First Baptist Church Silverhill, AL. I have been there for almost 18 years and I love it. Kenny and I have been married for 23 wonderful years. He is a machinist, and he loves trains! In fact, he repairs the air horns that come off of trains. As I said, he is crazy! God is Good! I would love to hear from you guys who attended Clarke 70-73. I praise His name and thank Him for my life. If any of you remember me and would like to email please do.

Just wanted to say to say hello to Brothers and Sisters in Jesus. We dream big dreams when we are young and don't take the time to think about life may not work out the way we want it to. God has plans for us and daily we must depend on him to take care of all the little details and not become so discouraged that we forget the reason we are here for and that is to spread the good news that Jesus died for us and we are to tell others so that they can hae eternal life. When I get down all I have to do is stop and think how blessed I am. I work with Vacation Bible School in the Associational Directors position. I almost gave it up this year but God just won't let me. God is at work in our Association and I am seeing young people come to Jesus through Bible School and that just makes my heart so full of hope for our country. I have three children and one step child. We have five grandchildren and one on the way. I recently had knee surgery and it takes me back to the summer at Clarke when I had a bike accident and how everyone was so good to me. If anyone out there reads this and remembers the summer of 1971 please email me. Memories are great. Make good memories, have a good day. Elsie Moss - class of 1972.

Hello to old friend! I attended Clarke College from 1970-1972, graduating in 1972, then continued my education at Union University, in Jackson, TN. Many of you know my sister, Nancy, who is so wonderful about keeping up with old friends. I met my dear friend, Sharon Blackwell Johnston at Clarke, and roomed with her there and at Union University. I received my Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Union, then after moving to the Fort Worth, Texas area finished a Master's Degree in Library Science at UNT. I have many fond memories of Clarke, especially music related experiences, and Bible studies Sharon and I had in our dorm room. I'm sorry I have not kept up with old friends as my sister, Nancy, has done, but my husband and I have lived in Texas since January 1975. Our son, Austin, is a junior at Texas Tech University, studying electrical engineering. I'm a reference librarian at Tarrant County College. Northeast Campus, a community college in the Fort Worth area. We are busy with our jobs and our little church, where we play and sing in the Praise Band. I'd love to hear from anyone.
Blessings,
Beth

We have often wondered where other alumni are, so we would love to hear from some friends from the past. I attended Clarke College from 1971-72 as a married student along with my wife Kay. I then transferred to Ole Miss for one year, then on to U.S.C. in Columbia, SC where I received my B.A. in History. I worked at the SC Dept. of Archives and History and also was in the AF Reserves and am now retired from both. Kay also attended U.S.C. and works as a secretary in the Athletic Department at Ben Lippen School, a Christian school that both of our sons graduated from. We have two sons. Tony is 24 and recently married. He has a BA from Winthrop University and a MTax from U.S.C. Bradley is 19 and is a sophomore at The Citadel.

Just a quick update on us . . . Johnny and I graduated from Clarke in 1972 and then graduated from Mississippi College and Southern Seminary. We've lived in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Louisville, Kentucky, Whitesburg, Kentucky, and Lexington where we served on church staffs. We then spent four years as SBC missionaries to Equatorial Brazil.
Since we returned home in 1989, Johnny has worked as a hospital and hospice chaplain and I have served on a church staff as Minister to Children and Families. I recently resigned my church after serving there for thirteen years to become a Manager/Chaplain for a group of surgeons at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
We have three children - Ashley, 25, who married our new son-in-law, Chris, on May 15, 2004, Jonathan, almost 23, who is working and attending college, and Mark, almost 18, who will be a high school senior in the fall. Johnny is beginning work on his doctorate and I've finished an additional Masters degree and am toying with the idea of adding another. We graduated from Clarke 32 years ago! That seems impossible! We'll celebrate our thirtieth wedding anniversary next year. We don't know where all the time has gone! We have fond memories of all our friends at Clarke and cherish the time we spent there.
