UPDATE:Thank you for praying about my son, Stanley, and his wife, Ashley.  Her surgery went well.  She continues to have headaches but that is expected for at least two weeks.  It takes 4-6 weeks for recovery.  Both of them are full-time students at ICC in Tupelo and are trying to keep up with their college courses.  Please continue to pray for them.

I ask you to pray for my cousin by marriage, Henry Ross, who is running for Congress, 1st Congressional District of MS.  The primary is June 1, where he will face other Republicans.  If you know of anyone in the 23 counties within the district, pleas encourage them to register to vote.  You can read about his platform and values by going to his facebook site or Henry Ross for Congress.  He is married to Anne Booth Ross, whose father is Dr. James E. Booth (Alumni of Clarke College)

Earlier Prayer Request

My son, Stanley and his wife Ashley need prayer for healing.  Ashley is facing brain surgery due to a pseudo tumor.  She has an appointment January 28th for a shunt to be inserted due to the build up of pressure behind her right eye.  Stanley previously had a shunt due to hydrocephalus for ten years but after surgery no longer has to have it.  Praise the Lord.  Stanley and Ashley live in Tupelo, MS and are attending Itawamba Community College so they are having to keep up with their classwork and work around medical appointments.  Thank you and may God bless you with His love and may you and your families be in good health.  I love all of my Clarke College friends and would like to hear from you.

UPDATE 3/20/09

I do not begin my radiation treatments until April 20. It will consist of 40 treatments (over eight weeks, five days a week).
I have had my first hormone shot and will receive one every four months in conjunction with my radiation.
I am doing really well and the doctors give me a lot of hope that I will outlive it. God is Good!
Thanks so much for your concern and prayers.
In His JOY:
Arlis

Dear Friends,

We earnestly request your prayers for Arlis as he contemplates his battle with prostate cancer which was diagnosed the past Monday, January 26. This morning (Wednesday) he underwent a bone scan to determine if the cancer has spread beyond the prostate.

Please pray with us that it has not spread and that the radiation treatments which will take place in Mid-February will be highly effective in eliminating the cancer.

Regardless of the outcome of our experience, we haved placed ourselves in God's hands and know that He will sustain us in all of this. We have claimed Romans 8:28 as God's promise to us. God is Good!

We are so thankful for our many Christian friends whom God has used and will use in the months ahead to give us emotional and spiritual support.

We love you in Jesus,

Arlis & Barbara, Mike, Leticia & Chris, and Kevin and Grace
