Clarke College Alumni Association
President's Message

Greetings, in the name of the Lord, from your CCAA President, Rick Tillotson (class of 1974)!

Saturday, April 24, 2010, is the date of our annual Clarke College Alumni Association homecoming! Dr. Woodrow Burt, Clarke College graduate, former Clarke Dean of Men, and currently President of Hannibal Lagrange College (Baptist college) in Hannibal, Missouri, will be our featured speaker. We hope to hold our meeting in the old Lott Fine Arts building on the campus of Central Mississippi Residential Care Center, but we are unable to confirm that at this time. Additional details need to be finalized, but our meeting will follow the same basic format as in previous years. I would love to see at least 100 of you as we gather again in Newton. Please make plans to attend!

Attendance at our annual meeting has been on a steady decline the last few years and there have been informal discussions about changing the date and location of the annual meeting. A formal discussion of these possibilities will be a part of the agenda for this year’s meeting on April 24th. For those planning to attend the meeting, please come prepared for this discussion; and if you are unable to attend, but have reasonable suggestions or ideas, please send those to me, Rick Tillotson, via email: rtillotson@bellsouth.net.

In case it hasn’t dawned on you, please realize that the membership of the CCAA declines each year as more of our Clarke alumni reach the end of their life and pass into Glory. Because there are no “new” graduates to take their place, our numbers can only grow smaller with the passing of time. Therefore, to sustain the life of the CCAA and with it the memory of Clarke College, it is imperative that we continue to meet on a regular basis. I thank God for my precious memories of Clarke College and the godly influence of her many graduates. I hope to see many of you in Newton on April 24th.
